Premature Ejaculation and Combined (PE and ED) Medications

On this page we have displayed all the medications suitable for premature ejaculation. Generic Priligy is for men who require more control over the timing of ejaculation and want to extend the time before ejaculation. Also below are combined medications that treat both erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation at the same time.

First: is it premature ejaculation, or an erection problem?

This is the question that decides whether anything on this page will help you, and it is got wrong constantly. A man whose erection is unreliable learns to hurry — and hurrying looks and feels exactly like premature ejaculation. Treat the erection in that case and the "PE" often disappears without a second medicine.

The sorting question is simple: which came first, the hurry or the softness? If erections are firm and reliable but ejaculation has always been very early, the reflex itself is the issue and dapoxetine is the right treatment. Our guide PE and ED together works through it in a table, and getting it right saves months.

What dapoxetine actually delivers

In trials, men starting from a very short baseline typically gained a several-fold increase in time to ejaculation, with improvements in control and satisfaction reported by both partners. That is a genuine, repeatable effect — and it is a delay rather than a switch. It will not produce an arbitrary duration, and judging it on a single occasion tells you little, because anxiety about performance is part of the condition itself.

Technique compounds with it and keeps working if you later stop: the start-stop and squeeze methods, less alcohol, and taking the stopwatch out of the encounter. How the molecule behaves is covered in how dapoxetine works.

Dapoxetine's own safety rules

These differ from the ED medicines, because dapoxetine is a short-acting SSRI rather than a PDE5 inhibitor. It must not be combined with antidepressants (SSRIs, SNRIs, tricyclics, MAOIs), lithium or tramadol, nor taken within the washout period after stopping them — the risk is serotonin syndrome. Avoid alcohol on dosing days: dapoxetine can cause fainting, and alcohol compounds it. Take it with a full glass of water, one dose in 24 hours, and not at all if you have significant heart disease or a history of fainting, mania or severe depression.

Combination tablets carry the rules of both molecules at once, including the absolute nitrate ban. Dapoxetine is a Schedule 4 medicine in Australia; have a doctor clear any combination before you start.
