Viagra Sublingual is sildenafil 100 mg in a tablet designed to dissolve under the tongue rather than be swallowed. Same molecule as generic Viagra, same four-to-five-hour window; what changes is the route it takes to get into your blood.
Why the sublingual route exists
A swallowed tablet has to survive the stomach and pass through the liver before it reaches the circulation. Under the tongue, some of the dose is absorbed straight through the lining of the mouth into the bloodstream, skipping that first pass. In theory that means a faster start and less interference from food.
In practice, be measured about it. Sublingual sildenafil is not a registered presentation in Australia, so there is no local product information putting numbers to the difference, and how much of a given tablet is genuinely absorbed under the tongue depends on how long you keep it there and how dry your mouth is. Men who use it generally describe a quicker start rather than a stronger effect — which is precisely what the pharmacology would predict.

How to take it
Place one tablet under the tongue and let it dissolve — do not chew it, do not wash it down. Keep it there until it has gone, and avoid drinking for a few minutes afterwards, or you simply swallow the dose you were trying not to swallow. Allow 15 to 30 minutes before sex, and take no more than one dose in 24 hours.

100 mg is the maximum licensed single dose of sildenafil, and this format offers only that strength — so there is no room to titrate and nothing above it to escalate to. If you have never taken sildenafil, a tablet you can halve is the better place to begin.
Side effects and the one absolute rule
Sildenafil's usual profile applies: headache, facial flushing, a blocked nose, indigestion, sometimes a temporary blue tinge to vision at the top dose. Sublingual tablets add one of their own — some men find the taste unpleasant or the tongue mildly numb while the tablet dissolves.

Getting the technique right
More than any other format, this one depends on how you take it. Three things decide whether the sublingual route does anything at all:
- Keep it under the tongue. Parked against a cheek or on top of the tongue, it is just a slow-dissolving swallowed tablet.
- Do not drink for a few minutes. Washing the dissolved drug down defeats the purpose entirely.
- A dry mouth slows it. If you are dehydrated or nervous, absorption is patchier — one of the reasons results vary between men and between occasions.
