Tadapox is a combination tablet: tadalafil 20 mg plus dapoxetine 60 mg. One tablet addresses two different problems — tadalafil supports the erection, dapoxetine delays ejaculation — which makes it a product for men who genuinely have both, and a poor choice for men who have one.

The same combination under another name

Worth knowing before you choose: Super Cialis is the same molecule combination at the same doses — tadalafil 20 mg with dapoxetine 60 mg — from a different manufacturer. They are two brands of one pairing, so compare the price per tablet and buy whichever is cheaper rather than assuming a difference that is not there.

Who it is for — and who it is not

The two conditions overlap constantly, and the overlap is usually one-directional: a man whose erection is unreliable learns to hurry, and hurrying looks exactly like premature ejaculation. Treat the erection and the apparent PE often disappears. That is why the sorting question comes before the purchase, and we have written it out in PE and ED together: one problem or two?

If only one condition is real, buy the single molecule — tadalafil or dapoxetine. It is cheaper, easier to dose, and carries only that medicine's restrictions rather than both sets at once.

The mismatch in those last two rows is the practical quirk of the product: the tadalafil half is still working the next day, while the dapoxetine half is long gone. That is not a fault — it simply means the combination is dosed around the dapoxetine, once per occasion.

How to take it

  • One tablet, 1 to 3 hours before sex — the dapoxetine half sets the timing.
  • With a full glass of water, which reduces the risk of fainting.
  • Never more than one tablet in 24 hours.
  • Avoid alcohol on days you take it: dapoxetine raises the risk of dizziness and fainting, and alcohol compounds it.
  • Food has little effect on tadalafil, so a meal is not a problem.

The restrictions are the sum of both medicines

This is the most important sentence on the page: a combination tablet carries every contraindication of both molecules simultaneously, and it is never safer or stronger because the two are combined.

  • No nitrates or poppers — the tadalafil rule.
  • No SSRIs, SNRIs, tricyclics, MAOIs, lithium or tramadol, and not within the washout period after stopping them — the dapoxetine rule, and the risk is serotonin syndrome.
  • Not with significant heart disease, a history of fainting, mania or severe depression, or serious liver problems.
  • Care with alpha-blockers and strong CYP3A4 inhibitors such as ketoconazole or ritonavir.

The absolute rule applies here as it does everywhere in this class: never combine this with nitrates (glyceryl trinitrate, isosorbide) or amyl nitrite "poppers" — together they can cause a dangerous fall in blood pressure. If you develop chest pain after taking it, tell the paramedics or the emergency department what you have taken, because nitrates are the treatment they would otherwise reach for.

Side effects come from both halves: headache, flushing, indigestion and back ache from tadalafil; nausea, dizziness and headache from dapoxetine. An erection lasting more than four hours, or sudden vision or hearing loss, needs urgent medical care.

The Australian position

Tadalafil and dapoxetine are both Schedule 4 (prescription-only) medicines here, and fixed-dose combinations of the two are not registered products in Australia. Have a doctor clear the combination before you start — particularly if you take anything for blood pressure, mood or your heart. Full detail on the dapoxetine half is in how dapoxetine works.

The case for separating the halves

Tadapox fixes the tadalafil and dapoxetine doses in one tablet, which is convenient once you know both suit you — and unhelpful before that.

  • The two molecules work on very different clocks. Tadalafil lasts up to about 36 hours; dapoxetine is taken one to three hours before sex and is gone the same evening. One tablet cannot serve both schedules.
  • Attribution gets hard. Nausea points to dapoxetine, back ache to tadalafil — a distinction you can only act on if you can vary them independently.
  • You are taking dapoxetine on days you may not need it, which is the half with the more troublesome side effects.

Establish tadalafil and dapoxetine separately first. If both suit you at the doses this tablet contains, the convenience is real; if they do not, a combination hides the problem rather than solving it.
